PAKISTAN OPENS FIRST SCHOOL FOR TRANSGENDER: Pakistan has taken a very good step in this regard and has opened its first school for transgender women which is funded by the government. The transgender women, also called Khawaja Sira or the third gender has been insulted and bullied since time immemorial. They have never been given a chance to study in the main stream education sector as the stance of this overly conservative society is that the transgender community does not have the right to get these basic rights including education.
FUTURE OF DIGITAL LITERACY IN PAKISTAN: The arrival of digital technology and its literacy has brought about the same vicissitudes in Pakistan also. The acceptance of digital literacy and its application to various branches across this developing nation has unlocked new horizons for people and organizations under the Prime Minister’s vision of Digital Pakistan. This vision of digital Pakistan is based on the robust development of digital infrastructure, global connectivity, innovation, digital entrepreneurship and the access to training of digital technology being given to the layman in the Pakistani society. However, presently, the full potential of digital technology has not been realized because only a quarter of adult population has access to the internet.
IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION: Education is an integral part of life. It is important for personal, social and economic development of a nation. It gives happiness and prosperity. Education empowers minds that will be able to conceive good thoughts and ideas. It enables the students do a critical analysis while making life decisions. Education guides humans to fight failure and achieve success in life. It is the only thing that can remove corruption, unemployment and environmental problems. “Education is the most powerful weapon with which you can bring a change in the world.”
